Weekend in Portland

First of all and big THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the open house. It was so much fun and there were so many of you, that even I got distracted enough not to take any photos! WOW! SO I will get some new office photos up next week.

The morning after, my friend Kellee and I got up at the crack of 10 and left for Portland at noon for a fun weekend. We met up and did dinner with a couple of her friends, did some shopping, and most importantly went to a Panic at the Disco concert, with The Hush Sound, Motion City Soundtrack, and Phantom Planet. We were feeling a little old sitting with the parents watching the angsty, Leg Warmers wearing teens. But it was still fantastic and we had a blast! Of course, since you can't bring pro photo equipment in, I have no pics except the ones off my cell phone, which I'm not going to show cause they're not pretty.

We did stop at Multnomah Falls because Kellee was shocked that I hadn't been there! Its ON THE INTERSTATE! I had no idea. Now I know why everyone stops! By the way, as someone afraid of heights with no camera strap, the right pic was scary (you can see my foot on the bridge)

We also went to the Japanese Gardens. They were gorgeous! Here are the highlights.
The beautiful Kellee baring with me :)

Grand Opening today in Bend!

I have been working very hard the last few weeks and we're finally here! Rachor Photography is now a full time adventure for me, and to celebrate, we've having our Grand Opening at our Bend Showroom. Please come and stop by, say hi and meet Matt and I! It just happens to be during the first Friday Art Walk in downtown Bend. You can either come see us and then continue on to all the great galleries downtown, or if you're already going to be there, come and stop by!

We are located on the corner of Wall St and Oregon Ave, inside the same building as Sports Vision, The Cork, and Made in Hawaii. You can come in either the front door (next door to Made in Hawaii) or the alley entrance. Here is the official address for all of you who are like me, and depend on those little gps or Google maps!

1012 NW Wall St
Suite 170

I hope to see you there!!

More Rach-Star than ever!

I just got back from a 2 day class in Corvallis, OR (part of which was spent at Reser Stadium, home of the Oregon State University Beavers... heehee.... sorry guys, is that really the best you could come up with for a Mascot? My Bobcat or Trapper would totally eat your Beaver... and don't get me started on Ducks!) Just joking all your OSU and OU types. Have to pick on you a little. I did pick sides, but I'm not saying which!

Anyway, here are some of the shots from my class - Shoot with Beckstead. It was a great experience, and showed me a few different ways to look at an area that may not be spectacular, but still find the beauty. It didn't hurt our models were pretty amazing as well, even in the freezing cold wind and rain, even the hail! Thanks Elisha, Kali, and Heather!

Wow, its been awhile!

Its been a crazy couple of months here at Rachor Photography! I've moved into and office/studio in downtown Bend and I'm loving it - except this first day:

Thank goodness I already had insurance and it ended up being very minor. But what a first day in. So I've been painting and decorating and everything is falling into place. I'm planning an early May grand opening and will post more details as we get closer.

Here is a more normal day. We are on the main floor, Suite 170. For you Bendites, stop by and see us! Someone is there most every day from noon to 4 unless we are out shooting.

I've also been taking some classes to make me even more of a rockstar then I was before! And lucky for me, my good friend Travis came out to Seattle from Montana the same weekend I was there! I promise, I went to class. And the Big Horn Brewery in the University district. Best idea ever: Apple store right next to the brewery. My computer now has a bright pink case!

Here are the highlights:

They have a great hefeweizen - sweet, but very tasty!

This is before Travis even started drinking his beer. It was a great evening and fun to catch up with an old friend as always!

We're gearing up for 2008's wedding season - but if you haven't booked yet, Don't Panic! We do still have a few openings, but call soon!

In other news, we're also in the process of launching a separate portion of our business. I will be back next week with a few more details. Until then... enjoy your weekend!

Lunar Eclipse

There was a beautiful lunar eclipse tonight. It started around 6:15 pm or so, while I was at the gym, so Matt took the first few images and I finished it off, although there not in order, so we'll let you figure out whose are whose! Here is a little collection for those of you who missed it or had clouds!
