Tina and Troy get hitched!

Matt and I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing wedding East of Helena, Montana. Tina and Troy got married at her parents' ranch in the middle of a hay field on one of the prettiest days I've seen all year! The day was complete with great food, live band, and fireworks, since it was the Fourth of July. Thanks for inviting Rachor Photography to be part of your big day!

Tina wore her grandmother's dress. Isn't she beautiful!?

The bridal party on the hay ride to the ceremony.

Tina made the groom's cake. It involved cake, cheesecake, and Italian Meringue. I'm sure it was delicious - there was nothing left about 5 minutes after I took this photo!

Complete with an amazing Big Sky sunset!

Congratulations Tina and Troy! Have a great time on the the honeymoon and the rest of your photos should be online by the time you get home!

I know this one is early, but it was pretty amazing so I wanted to post now! Well, technically I guess its right on time!

This is straight out of the camera, though I did add a tiny bit of contrast. I used a video light, and apparently this month reflects on the bottom. So it glowed against the door. Pretty Wicked eh?

Next up: March!

I like to call this one "Elmo Coat". I'm not sure what possessed this woman, and if you read this, I'm sorry, but the coat looks like it is made out of Elmo.

I know this isn't a strong image, and looking back, there are so many cooler ways to take this photos. This was the day of my Grandpa Willie's funeral. We did several sets of family photos too, and had a lot of fun. And this was the image that seemed to mean the most to me.

And we're back

I'm working on a new website and blog, so I'm dedicating this one solely to the photo a day project. I know, you were beginning to wonder if it was ever coming back. The answer is yes! I'm posting the rest of January tonight and hope to be caught up completely by June. And yes, it is trued I haven't taken a photo everyday single day, but I'm feeling really good about the amount taken, whether or not life got in the way.

So without further ado, we go back to the program!

Epic Journey Day 1-2

For those of you curious where my blog went, its coming back to life, slowly, as I catch up with my own life. After only 8 months in Missoula, Matt and I are moving to Memphis, TN. Matt got a job working for a former boss at Wright Medical Technologies. They create replacement joints and he loves it! SO to restart and get caught up with my photo a day, I am posting photos from my Epic Journey from Missoula to Memphis - if that didn't get "Don't Stop Believing" or "More Than a Feeling" stuck in your head, I don't know what will! Some photos aren't great because I can't always get the big camera out and shot them with my phone, for TwitPic, but should get more interesting the closer I get to TN!

Day one - Florence, Missoula, Helena - 151 miles, about 2 hours

Ok, so Day one wasn't real epic. I stayed at my mother-in-law's since all of my stuff was gone on the moving truck.

And woke up to this:

Pretty, but made me swear a little. Luckily it was already 38 degrees by the time I drove away. Stopped by the empty house, mopped one more time and got my plants and PT beer (for Matt, not for driving), then hit Starbucks for my new favorite soy caramel latte, and got gas. OH and I forgot to introduce my travel buddy:

This is SNOT. He was a birthday gift from my friend Harmony when I lived in Wyoming in 2003. He since has lived in the glove box of Matt's truck. He emerged from his cave earlier this winter and has been my companion in the Vibe since.

Drive to Helena wasn't bad, a little slushy. But coming over McDonald Pass is always pretty.

Spent the rest of the day playing with the nieces and nephew, then dinner with Krystal. Yesterday was mostly just relaxing, camera shopping with Chris and Curt, and then Harmony and I walked the walking mall and went to Monsters vs Aliens (which was hilarious and cute). Also watched Twilight with Chrissy. Nice relaxing Sunday. Today isn't starting out bad either. I'll try to take a few more pictures than yesterday! Onward!

Its been awhile. I have some photos to post. In the meantime, I found this video interesting. If you're not a photographer you may not... then again maybe you will!

Back on Track. Even though I technically shot this after midnight. It snowed here again today. It was almost 50, Dash and I went for a 4 mile run, and then it does this. It made the tree so pretty though!

Grandpa is gone.

Hey everybody,

I'm sorry for the delay. My grandpa Willie passed away a few days ago and I've been in Billings, helping my mom and grandma out, wishing I had my camera every second for little random things. I will admit, I cheated with the photos I posted, but I feel I had a valid excuse for this one. I'm working on a couple of special projects and will probably incorporate that into the blog too. We've been pouring through generations of photos and having a blast doing so. I'll definitely post a few choice images!

Cutest Dog Ever

I might be a little biased but Dash really is the cutest dog ever. The other dogs made fun of his booties, but his feet were warm, so he didn't care.

A little Enter the Dragon from Kubota Image Tools. Just makes the ridiculous cuteness even more apparent.

For those of you not familiar with Missoula, I took today's shots and all the others on the River Trail. It was a typical gloomy day. Or as I like to look at it, the light is always filtered and beautiful! This factors into Resolution #3. Dash and I started our training today for a 5k. So by spring I'll be ready to run one, wherever I am at that point. Wish me luck. Next up, reading the vegetarian cook book I got at the used book store.

Self Portrait Day! I haven't done many of these, and have friends that have made so many amazing portraits in creative ways, I think I'll try a few more. I have an amazing South facing window at my house, and Missoula is always cloudy and has great light! Not the best photo of me, but for my first in years, I'm kind of excited about it.

Yes, a couple days late, but at least photographed that day. I've come to discover its much harder to post everyday than it is to take one photo a day. Or to limit it to just one. I will have to find a place to post the ones that don't make it. I find myself over-analyzing what my favorite shot is, versus Matt's favorite, and what I think all of you would like. But that's why I'm doing this - an opportunity to do something I love everyday, and show it to all of you.
