Family portraits for a cause!

On Monday, September 23rd, Lindsey from Lindsey Renae Photography and I are doing family portrait mini sessions for a good cause right here in Butte! We are partnering with Tracy Moore Photography of Billings, and several other photographers around the state to raise money for the African Reflections Foundation. Our goal is to help Tracy raise $5000 for her return to Tanzania in November. Her goal is to help to build a well and bring along some school supplies as well. You can read more about it on her blog, http://blog.tracymoorephotography.com/?cat=726

We are doing 15-20 minutes sessions between 3:00 and 7:00pm, tentatively at Father Sheehan Park. The cost is $100 per family. Plus you want to get family portraits taken for Christmas cards anyway, right?! This is a great option - the leaves are changing, as long as the weather cooperates we'll be at a beautiful park here in Butte (and if not, we have a backup indoor location). You get 3 digital files that are yours to use however you please, all while helping bring water to those who need it! Please either give Lindsey a call at (406) 396-0505 or you can call me too at 565-4841 (But Lindsey has the schedule, so call her!)

We take simple things like running water for granted. These people don't have that option - they walk miles to get water most of us wouldn't touch. This is a simple way to make a big difference in the lives of people who truly appreciate it.

ALSO If you are in Butte, check out the local news on ABC at 5:30 and Fox at 9. You'll get to see my smiling face tell you all about it!

Fun Thank You Card Idea

I had the honor of being the Best Maid (Matron of Honor sounds too old, although we don't play favorites either so, despite the wedding being over, we're still working on my title!) in my amazing friend's wedding last weekend. Being in the wedding is more work than being the photographer and was a good reminder for me that even though I show up on the wedding day to work, the wedding party has usually been going for most of the week! Its hard work to have that much fun with your friends.

Harmony and her new husband, Dave, did one of my favorite ideas - they took a photo of them with a hand made sign to use for Thank You cards! This is not them, so don't look for me. I took lots of photos that day, but none of this brilliant idea, and none with my camera since it was too big to bring along.

What a fun opportunity to get creative with your thank you cards - whether you design it yourself, or have your photographer do it for you (most of us are decent graphic designers, and those of us who aren't, hire them!).

These images are all from a blog post I found at Intimate Weddings. There are other images and more fun ideas for you do it yourselfers and photographers. Have fun with it!

Maternity Leave

Hi everybody,

Many of you already know this, but Matt and I are one day away from our due date with our first baby, a little girl we are currently calling NoNa (which is short for No Name!!). No this won't be her real name, but you'll all have to wait until she is here to find out what it's really going to be. Just in case we change our minds! Because of this, we have taken most of the summer off from photographing weddings.

Thank you all so much for understanding, and keep an eye out for photos of our little girl in the coming couple of weeks!

Tina and Troy get hitched!

Matt and I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing wedding East of Helena, Montana. Tina and Troy got married at her parents' ranch in the middle of a hay field on one of the prettiest days I've seen all year! The day was complete with great food, live band, and fireworks, since it was the Fourth of July. Thanks for inviting Rachor Photography to be part of your big day!

Tina wore her grandmother's dress. Isn't she beautiful!?

The bridal party on the hay ride to the ceremony.

Tina made the groom's cake. It involved cake, cheesecake, and Italian Meringue. I'm sure it was delicious - there was nothing left about 5 minutes after I took this photo!

Complete with an amazing Big Sky sunset!

Congratulations Tina and Troy! Have a great time on the the honeymoon and the rest of your photos should be online by the time you get home!
